This delicious caramel sauce is only 4 simple ingredients and takes only 20 minutes to make. This sauce is so much healthier and creamier than typical caramel sauce. I love to use mine in my nut butters or on fresh vanilla bean ice cream.
1 & 1/2cups Hot Water
2 cups or 17 Dates pitted
1/4 cup Almond Milk (any plant based milk)
1/2 Tsp kosher or sea salt
Soak dates for 10-12 minutes in the hot water. Transfer dates to food processor or blender along with 1 cup of the water from dates. Add the milk and salt and blend. Add the remaining liquid a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency. This could take up to 15 minutes. Transfer caramel to an airtight container and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
